Paralysis is a short-length narrative film that tells the story of Jessica Sulloway. Jessica is a thirty-something photographer suffering from severe sleep disorders; primarily sleep paralysis. This disorder has haunted her most of her life and has lead to mental instability.
Jessica has just divorced her husband and is emotionally fragile. Her worried father Roman doesn’t think she can handle living alone in her new apartment but Jessica convinces him otherwise. But it’s a lie: Jessica fears sleeping. Jessica makes desperate attempts to protect herself at night. But the lines of dream and reality blur when she starts experiencing strange occurrences in her apartment.
It starts with mysteriously running water in the kitchen, then whispering noises in her bedroom during a sleep paralysis episode and later a very bizarre neighbor showing up at her front door. Soon Jessica fears for her life.
